Nora's first slide

We took Nora to the playground in our subdivision today.  It had rained earlier so we had to dry things off.  Nora and mommy went down the slide a few times.  Nora was real cautious and confused for the first few trips but she started to catch on.  We could only stay for a few minutes because some other kids showed up.  Now that we know she doesn't hate it, we will be going back again.

My two favorite girls

Just some cute pictures of my two favorite girls reading a book. Except for that one picture where Nora is giving me that "Turn the #$%ing flash off daddy"  Yes, Nora thinks with a potty mouth.

So Jaime said to Nora "Cat got your tongue?" yesterday and Nora stuck out her tongue.  Now every time we say tongue she pokes it out.  We are having a tons of fun with this...probably a little too much fun.

Happy Birthday Jaime

Today is Jaime's birthday!  She would prefer if we wished her a happy 30th birthday so that's what I'm going to do!  (she was born in 78...Shhhhh).

It's been a interesting year.  It's amazing Jaime doesn't have a full head of gray hair by now.  She's a great person and a wonderful wife and mother.

Happy Birthday J.  Love ya.

Here's a photo montage that beautiful woman I get to share my life with.

Update for May 31st - Bubbles!

So Nora seems to be the last stage of her sickness.  We are now getting the remaining junk from her lungs.  Technically an Xray would still show her as sick but we know she is almost through this.  Her heartrate is back to normal when she's sleeping which is the biggest hint we are on the mend.  Her stats still dip from time-to-time but it's only when she needs to be coughed.  I bet another three days of heavy coughing and chest PT will clear the last bit out.

So on to the fun stuff.  We are in the process of building a little arm cart for Nora.  It's just so she can move her harm around easier (less friction).  We saw a picture of another child using one on a Montana SMA site.  They used a different design, which wouldn't suit Nora, so we changed it quite a bit.  So far it works great.  She drew a really nice picture with it!

Nora's bubble addiction is at it's peak in the Gooden household.  Jaime said she could literally do bubbles all day without Nora getting bored. Nora even throws a fit when we pretend to take away the bubbles.  The cool thing is Jaime has really worked with Nora and perfected bubble blowing.  She even got her to do the bubble blow on command.  Jaime just says "bubbles!" and Nora gives a few puffs of air.  It's fun for the whole family.  Nora loves bubbles, Jaime loves entertaining Nora, I love taking pictures, and Bentley (our dog) loves eating bubbles.  Jaime even drank bubbles on accident this weekend - that's how much we all love bubbles.

Goodentree 3.0 is slow going.  I have not had as much time as I need to finish this weekend.  So it's going to be a updating all week.  Just another reason to keep checking back each day.

Update on Nora

She seems to be doing better.   She's at least sleeping in the 100-118 range instead of 130+.  She is still junky but she's having less coughing fits and the secretions are down.  We are not using oxygen tonight as well!  We might not have to spend the entire weekend running 24 hour shifts now.

I'll take some pics tomorrow of our little fighter.    Daddy out.
