Nora's Mom and perhaps, just possibly, the greatest woman on earth. When not by Nora's side, Jaime is usually making something on her sewing & embroidery machines or is elbow-deep in a flower bed or on Facebook. Jaime works full-time in IT as a systems administrator, building servers and working in Active Directory and Exchange. Jaime manages everything for Nora, from preparing her complex diet, to school, therapy, and mobility. Jaime is constantly in motion, bouncing from task to task. It's exhausting just watching her. Jaime's day begins around 5:30 am when she takes the morning Nora shift until the nurse arrives and she can leave for work.

The man, the legend. TJ is the voice of goodentree and the YouTube channel. TJ designs the website, writes the posts, films and edits the videos, and adores his daughter. He does Nora's nighttime therapy. When it comes to Nora's playtime, TJ is the go-to guy, often seen playing with everything from dolls, to princess pets, to Skylanders. He describes Nora as his "best friend" and he, hers - the two are inseparable. In addition to working full-time as a network engineer in IT, he also works the night shift caring for Nora until nearly 4:00am until Jaime takes over. He sleeps less than 5 hours a night every night, 7 nights a week and has given Nora a backrub every single night for 6 years straight. He is an extremely active Dad who provides at least 50% of Nora's care and adores his wife, Jaime.
TJ is also very passionate about handicap toy modification, often pioneering procedures to adapt new toys for Nora to play with. He is a tinkerer by nature who always has at least three projects going at all times. He is currently redesigning the Goodens' home security system, finishing his multi-copter project, and re-designing goodentree.com, while editing pictures for the newest Nora video in Adobe After Effects.

Nurse Kim is like part of our family. She's been caring for Nora since she was just a newly diagnosed baby. Without Nurse Kim's expert care, Nora would not be here today. I've lost count of the times Nurse Kim has had to save Nora's life. Kim cares for Nora during the day, since Jaime and I work full-time to provide enough insurance for Nora. Nurse Kim also takes an active role in the SMA community, helping to write many of the articles on InsideSMA. She's always willing to help out a new family with questions and is especially good at consulting with other nurses to help train and instruct them on SMA care.
